Short Courses
One of the unique signature programs in the Columbia Nanocenter has been the development of a series of short courses directed at issues, perspectives, and skills that will be needed by students in the future but are not normally a part of the conventional educational curriculum. These courses are designed to help transition our students from the academic world into the broader real world of nanotechnology.
The initial topics for these courses included: (1) responsible conduct of research, (2) science and society, (3) presentation skill development and (4) perspectives in industrial and government research in nanotechnology. Roughly one offering is taught each semester in a repeating sequence.
